Airey Neave, assassinated in 1979, whilst a member of Margaret Thatcher's opposition party, is related to Sir Arundell Neave. St Mary the Virgin, Prittlewell Church – Monument 1: Here lieth buried Mary Davies the wiffe of Richard Davies the sonne of John Davies the elder of Middleton in the County of Salop, Esq) Esq of the body exterordinary unto his magisty, shee was the eldest daughter & coheire or Richard Cocke of this Parish Esq, the sonne of John Cocke Esq by Elizabeth his wiffe, one of the daughters of the right Honorable Thomas Lord Wentwoorth Lord Chamberleyn to King Edward the 6, Shee departed this liffe without issue born, on the 2 day of September Anno 1623. St Mary the Virgin, Prittlewell Church – Monument 2: In Memory of Mrs Agnes Thornborrow, relict of the late Mr John Thornborrow of Southwark who departed this life at South End the 28th day of October 1805 Aged 67. St Mary the Virgin, Prittlewell Church – Monument 3: Sacred to the memory of The Revd Sir Herbert Croft Baronet LLB. Thirty years vicar of this parish who died at Paris 26 April 1816 in the 65 year of his age. St Mary the Virgin, Prittlewell Church – Monument 4: In memory of Robert Scratton Esq of this parish, who died November 30th 1839, in the 86th year of his age. Also of Elizabeth Scratton, wife of the above, who died July 30th 1840, in the 88th year of her age. St Mary the Virgin, Prittlewell Church – Monument 5: In memory of John Bayntun Scratton Esq of Milton Hall in this parish, who died June 28th 1842 in the 63rd year of his age. Also of Harriet (eldest daughter of the above and Harriet his wife.) who died June 2nd 1844 aged 30, at Cadenabbia on the Lake of Como, and is buried in the cemetery of Griante. Also of Harriet Scratton (wife of the above) who died June 4th 1856 in her 65th year. St Mary the Virgin, Prittlewell Church – Monument 6: To the memory of the Revd Frederick Nolan, L.L.D., F.R.S. & co. 42 years vicar of this parish. He died September 16th 1861 in the 85th year of his age at Geraldstown House in the County of Meath, Ireland. He was a true Christian. A man of distinguished learning. An affectionate husband and a sincere friend. My spirit hath rejoiced in God my saviour. His mortal remains are interred in the family vault at Navan. There Remaineth a Rest. St Mary the Virgin, Prittlewell Church – Monument 7: To the memory of Spencer Robert Wigram vicar of this parish 1864-1880 by whose efforts this church was restored and of his wife Elizabeth Pearson R.I.P.
