St Michael, Pitsea Church – Exterior 1: This picture is reproduced by kind permission of Andrew Barham, whose site on the lost churches of Essex can be found here. St Michael, Pitsea Church – Exterior 2: All that remains of the nave. St Michael, Pitsea Church – Exterior 3: All that remains of the chancel. St Michael, Pitsea Church – Exterior 4: The shape of the roof can still be seen on the east side of the tower. The loss of the main church structure is not as catastrophic as the loss of the tower would have been. The small church was rebuilt in 1871, by Sir Arthur Blomfield. St Michael, Pitsea Church – Exterior 5: This tower, though much restored, dates from around 1500.
