Exterior 5 photos

St Clement, Leigh-on-Sea Church – Exterior 1: For Mum & Dad. This view from the south-east shows the C19 south aisle and chancel. St Clement, Leigh-on-Sea Church – Exterior 2: My parents have a wedding photo taken just outside this lovely Tudor red-brick South porch. St Clement, Leigh-on-Sea Church – Exterior 3: St Clement's church is best approached from Church Hill. It is a steep climb, but is well worth it as the church suddenly appears from between the trees. Though I doubt this view is possible when that tree is somewhat leafier. The C15 west tower is diagonally buttressed. It has battlements, and the raised stair turret can clearly be seen in this picture. The tower has a west door, and a three-light west window. St Clement, Leigh-on-Sea Church – Exterior 4: The tower is around 80ft in height, and is constructed from Kentish ragstone. St Clement, Leigh-on-Sea Church – Exterior 5

Interior 11 photos

St Clement, Leigh-on-Sea Church – Interior 1: Unfortunately St Clement's was closed when I visited. There was, however, a lot of noise coming from the tower. It seems that some workmen were busy up there. They had left the west door under the tower unlocked, so I was able to take this picture through the glass of the inner locked doors. The nave and north aisle are C15, whereas the chancel and south aisle were C19 additions. St Clement, Leigh-on-Sea Church – Stained Glass 1: This glass represents The Crucifixion. Unfortunately taken from quite some distance, and through glass, so image quality is not as good as I would have liked.
